People Allocations
View all Usage Patterns
TargetProcess provides information about overall people allocations and powers decision making for re-allocations.

The allocations area answers these questions:
1. Who is overloaded?
Overloaded people, those with a current allocation greater than 100%, are highlighted red. In the example above, Jerry Mouse is overburdened by 50%, and his allocation should be changed.
The Load Report (below) shows effort distribution throughout the company.
2. Who is available for the upcoming project?
You can apply a filter to find available people from a specified date for a specified role or position. For example, if your project starts 5/14/2007 and you want to find developers available for the project, you can apply a filter to find them quickly.
3. Who can be re-allocated to another project?
Sometimes the allocation percent does not give enough information for decision making. For example, a person may be allocated 100% but in fact has just a few tasks and nobody knows what the person is doing in his "spare" time. The allocations view provides detailed information about current assignments.

4. What assignments does each person have?
Even when one person has 3 stories and another person has 1 story, it is possible that the single story is much more complex and important. You can click User Stories, Bugs and Tasks links to see exact assignments. This information can help you make the right decision in complex cases.
So the Allocations area provides all the required information for people resources management even in large software development departments.
